Profile : Mrs. Sabita Das

Mrs. Sabita Das is a self-made, confident, discipline loving and one of the growing entrepreneurs of Nepal. She was born in a middle class family. Her mother passed away when she was just five years old. At this juncture of sorrow, her father played a roll of a mother too. Her father was a rich personality so far his job was concerned and retired from the Department of Central Government of India.

Her business experience started just a decade before, when her husband gave an opportunity to help him from home to office.

Though she was not backed up with the marketing experiences, but she always remained a helping hand & advisory partner to her husband, who has over two decades sales and marketing experience with multinational companies. Sabita Das always admires the working cultures and the professional attitude of all those organizations where her husband worked with. She did not work in any organization as an employee, but she gives credit to her husband on today’s achievement as what she is currently. Mrs. Sabita Das was always a communicating partner along with the professional growth of her husband.

Mrs. Sabita is not only an entrepreneur today, but she is well a known social worker, problem resolver and solution maker of the society wherever she remains. She is also a very active member of “Chitragupta Mahila Samitee”, a society of her own community, a life member of Nepal Maithili Samaj, a life member of WEAN (Women Entrepreneur Association of Nepal) and Past President and also a chartered board member of Inner Wheel Club of Balaju .

Providing services to the needy, defending to weaker and voicing the unheard feeble voices of the society was observed in Mrs. Sabita from her childhood only, as her father shares. She always had these beliefs that don’t give trouble to anyone and especially to poor and the weaker.

According to her, every phase of life holds its own significances and currently she is enjoying her work, with her team delivering the best to their customers. She also believes in rewarding her employees for their contribution towards the organization and treat them as own brothers and sisters. She encourages performance incentives and distributes it by her hand which also stimulates and motivates staff to work harder and give their best.

Sabita Das says, “Having a husband in the same business is definitely a plus point, as we understand each other better. He helps me with decision making and teaches me to approach life more practically.”

Her professional life apart, Sabita puts family as the top priority. She manages both home and work simultaneously very smoothly, though this is a very challenging job. She has two children; Ketki (Daughter-Student of MBBS in Armed Forces Medical College - AFMC, Dhaka) and Kanishka (Son-Student of Aeronautical Engineering at Shenyang Aerospace University, China).  Sabita balances both the roles comfortably as she says “once I reach home, I am transformed into a mother, a daughter-in-law and a wife, which is beauty of being a woman. We are all capable of accomplishing each responsibility with equal grace and intensity”.

Mrs. Sabita had been to different cities of India, when her husband was working with Indian organizations and lastly when he was transferred to Kathmandu (Nepal) in the year 1996, Mrs. Das also came with her husband and children. Since then she became a resident of Kathmandu, Nepal.
